Structure for you. Discovery for your child.
Twelve subject areas give your child opportunities to read, reason, investigate, create and move. The available lessons turn selected curriculum objectives into teaching, examples and activities, so you can spend more time helping your child explore and less time assembling disconnected resources.
Skills they can use beyond school
Help your child practise thoughtful money choices, develop an idea and build respectful relationships. Choose age-appropriate optional courses: Social Skills & Relationships from Year 1, Money & Financial Literacy from Year 5, Entrepreneurship from Year 6 and Investing & Risk from Year 8. Each has four introductory lessons with examples, practice and saved work.

Twelve subjects, connected learning
Mathematics and English run through the week. Science and History add investigation and interpretation. Eight wider subjects make room for making, movement, computing, geography, personal development and different worldviews. See actual Month 1 topics below.
Mathematics
Read, partition and compare four-digit numbers.
MONTH 1English
Retrieve details and support an inference.
MONTH 1Science
Group living things using observable features.
MONTH 1History
Place Roman Britain on a timeline and distinguish evidence from a guess.
MONTH 1Geography
A map key explains symbols; a grid reference locates a square.
MONTH 1Art and Design
Observational drawing starts with looking carefully at large shapes and their relationships.
MONTH 1Design and Technology
A design begins with someone’s need.
MONTH 1Music
Pulse is an even beat; rhythm is a pattern of sounds and silences fitted to it.
MONTH 1Physical Education
Controlled movement combines stable positions with safe transitions.
MONTH 1Computing
Decomposition breaks a task into manageable parts.
MONTH 1Personal Development
People may feel differently in the same situation.
MONTH 1Religious Education
A worldview is a way of understanding life and what matters.
What “British curriculum” means at Asta
The UK has more than one education system. Our reference is England’s National Curriculum. Year 1 sits in Key Stage 1; Year 4 in Key Stage 2; Year 7 begins Key Stage 3. Some official programmes specify individual years, while others cover a whole key stage. Asta chooses its teaching sequence within that framework.
Using this framework is not accreditation, government approval or Cambridge registration. Our wider-subject titles and selected lessons do not establish complete statutory coverage.
How we check coverage
Look at the learning goal, follow an example and try a fresh task. Review the response together to decide what to revisit. The aim is understanding your child can explain and use.
