What we store
For parents: first name, email, a password hash, a hashed recovery code, account creation date and acceptance of the learning terms. For learners: a nickname, year group, profile creation date, sessions marked complete with dates, written answers, drafts, submission history, parent marks and feedback. We also store quick-practice choices, whether they were correct, whether on-screen help was used, and the time of each attempt. For optional independent learner logins, we also store a learner email and a password hash. We do not require a surname, birth date or location. Parents can create, reset or disable learner logins in learner settings.
Subject choices are saved per learner and year group, included in family exports and deleted with the learner. Deselecting a subject keeps earlier answers and progress. Weekly plans store the parent-selected time zone, first teaching Monday, daily start time and individually moved lesson dates and times. These are included in your data export and removed with the learner or family account. Times are planning preferences, not attendance records.
Why we use it
We use this data to sign parents in, organise their own learners, provide the selected learning material and remember progress, answers and results. Learners and their own parent can view this history; parents can also read drafts and review submissions. Only an adult parent or legal guardian should register and create child profiles. Children use their own restricted login or a parent-opened learner space, under their guardian’s supervision.
Storage and technical information
Account and progress data are stored in a private database on our Namecheap hosting account, outside the public website folder. An essential session cookie keeps you signed in. We store short-lived hashed request identifiers to limit abusive attempts. Our hosting provider may process connection logs needed to operate and secure the service. The portal has no advertising analytics, AI grading, camera or microphone access. Optional spelling playback uses the browser speech service for authored words only; learner answers are not sent to it. This tab keeps a recovery copy of unsaved writing until it is saved or the tab is closed. Typed drafts also save automatically to the private server when connected. It stores answers you enter online, saved drafts, submitted attempts, parent marks and feedback. You may upload photos of handwritten work. These are stored privately with the submission, visible only to your family, and deleted with the learner or account. You can download each image from its submission. Upload only the work, without faces or personal details. Written work is not automatically graded. The small multiple-choice practice checks give automatic feedback and save attempts; these are not formal grades.
Optional game breaks run in your browser. This tab keeps an approximate active-time counter, identifiers of practice questions counted towards a break, and your reminder interval for today, separately for each signed-in learner. Game scores are not stored or shared. Optional school-day check-in and check-out store first start, latest finish and the chosen time zone separately from active time. These records are included in family exports and deleted with the learner or account. Separately, active portal time is saved as daily totals for the learner and parent: visible, recently active learning pages count, while hidden tabs, game breaks and movement breaks do not. Paper work is not measured. Daily spelling, geography and fun quiz answers and results are saved. Solution-help requests and their follow-up tasks are also saved. These records are included in family exports and deleted with the learner or account. Closing the tab clears its reminder storage. Lesson narration is generated in advance from our authored teaching text using OpenAI, then served as audio files from this website. Playing it does not send learner answers or account information to OpenAI.
The separate marketing pages may load Google Fonts. The learning portal uses system fonts and does not load those external font files. Optional links to curriculum sources open external websites with their own policies.
Optional narration is an AI-generated voice. We send authored lesson text to OpenAI to prepare reusable audio files; learner answers and account information are not included in this narration process. Audio playback uses saved files from our server. Sound and animation preferences are stored in this browser; no microphone is used.
Your choices
In the parent account area you can download your family data, remove individual learners or delete your family account. Deletion removes application records immediately; hosting security logs and any provider-held backups are separate and may persist under the provider’s retention practices. Contact us for access or correction requests you cannot complete yourself.
Retention and recovery
Your learning records remain until you delete them or ask us to remove them. Security rate-limit records are removed after at most 24 hours on the next application request. Inactive login sessions expire. Save your recovery code: this version does not send email password resets or verify email ownership.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice before introducing payments, additional data collection or a different use of learner information.
