See one idea explained in different ways

In our Year 4 place-value lesson, a worked example builds 5,031 as 5,000 + 30 + 1. Labelled columns and paper digit cards make the zero in the hundreds place visible. Your child then builds 2,704 and explains why its zero matters. The next task uses a different number, so you can see whether the idea has clicked.

Skills they can use beyond school

Help your child practise thoughtful money choices, develop an idea and build respectful relationships. Choose age-appropriate optional courses: Social Skills & Relationships from Year 1, Money & Financial Literacy from Year 5, Entrepreneurship from Year 6 and Investing & Risk from Year 8. Each has four introductory lessons with examples, practice and saved work.

Built for online learning from the start

Online learning needs more than a lesson delivered through a screen. At home, children need clear next steps, help they can open themselves, feedback while practising and time away from the device. Asta connects those pieces in one learning space. You can pause, repeat and change the approach without waiting for a live class.

Start with a parent account

Create a free parent account, keep the recovery code safe and add a learner nickname and year group. No card is needed. Open a learner space before handing over the device; returning to the parent area requires your password. Optional independent learner logins can be managed by the parent.

Understand before moving on

Each session has a written explanation, examples and a small practice question. Children can open a hint or another explanation. AI-generated narration is available for Years 1, 4 and 7; the new year groups currently have written learning. These are prepared teaching resources, not an open-ended AI chat. Replay or reread a step as often as useful.

Try it, then make it your own

A short practice choice gives immediate feedback. The answer page is different: children write, describe a drawing or record a practical activity, then save a draft or submit it. Parents can read the work, use the marking guidance and leave feedback. A correct practice choice and a thoughtful written explanation tell you different things.

Keep hands and minds busy

Print a session, build with everyday materials, sketch an observation or discuss a story. The portal is a starting point for activity, not a requirement to remain at a screen. Optional three-minute games and movement suggestions provide a short change of pace.

See how learning works

Your child works through explanations, examples and activities at their own pace. Choose subjects, organise the weekly plan and review saved work together. Parents guide learning and mark written responses.

Audio and video by year

Use a spoken explanation or video wherever a playback button is shown. Written explanations, examples and practice let your child revisit an idea at their own pace.

Questions parents ask

Are lessons live?

No. Asta is self-paced, with written teaching, examples and activities. There is no live class timetable.

Does progress save automatically?

Completion ticks and practice attempts are recorded. Written answers need Save draft or Submit; unsaved work can be lost when you leave a page.
